Waste Nothing

My wife and I love hot pepper rings. We add them to our scrambled eggs along with salsa. We toss them into sandwiches and on hamburgers. However, once you eat the rings, you have liquid left over (the marinade). Not wanting to simply dump this down the sink, we worked on finding other uses for the marinade. Our solution: add it to our homemade salted cabbage. Usually, my wife adds some oil to our salted cabbage along with some garlic. However, we have found that we can use the left over liquid instead of oil for our cabbage. It adds a bit of zing, and we save a few pennies. It also means that we can use EVERYTHING and throw nothing in the garbage that can be eaten.
